Shunichi Irei

Born on Izenajima, a small island north of Okinawa’s main island.
From his teenage years, he began creating music in a unique style that incorporated the sanshin (traditional Okinawan three-stringed instrument).
He made his indie debut in January 2007 with Kassensouka (Summer Fantasy Song),
and his major debut followed in May 2010 with the single Sensei, released by Victor Entertainment.

Shunichi has appeared in major events such as Summer Sonic, the Jingu Gaien Fireworks Festival, 24-Hour Television, and NHK’s SONGS,
actively performing both within and outside of Okinawa.

In April 2022, he released his long-awaited album Nangoku Beat, his first in ten years.
On April 1, 2023, he was appointed as a Tourism Ambassador for his hometown, Izenajima.
